ORS 696.186

1. A person is qualified to teach if:

a) Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience working in the field related to the topic of the course
b) 6 years working in a field related to the topic of the course
c) Total of 6 years of any combination of college level coursework and experience working a field related to the topic of the course
d) A designation by a professional real estate organization as determined by the Real Estate Agency (SIOR) and 2 years of college level course work
e) A designation by an association of real estate educators as an instructor
f) Successful completion of an instructor training course plus 2 years of experience working in the field related to the topic of the course
g) Approval as an instructor in another state.

2. A person CANNOT teach if:

a) Professional or occupational licenses related to the course topic was revoked for disciplinary reasons or currently suspended
b) Determined by a court to have violated statute pertaining to real estate during the prior 5 years.

3. Before teaching, must sign a from stating that one is qualified and not prohibited from teaching.
